Chicago
CHICAGO, the “sexiest musical ever” (Metro) comes to Curve in June for one week only starring Strictly Come Dancing Professional Dancer and TV Star Janette Manrara (It Takes Two, Burn The Floor, Glee) as Roxie Hart and TV star Brenda Edwards (Loose Women, Chicago, The X Factor) as Matron ‘Mama’ Morton.
“Murder, greed, corruption, exploitation, adultery and treachery…all those things we hold near and dear to our hearts”. So begins the international multi-award-winning musical, CHICAGO.
Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today’s tabloids.
Don’t miss out, book now! It would be criminal to miss it…
The Midnight Bell
Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures company return to Curve in 2025 with THE MIDNIGHT BELL.
In 1930s London ordinary people emerge from cheap boarding houses nightly to pour out their passions, hopes and dreams in the pubs and fog-bound streets of Soho and Fitzrovia. Step inside The Midnight Bell, a tavern where one particular lonely-hearts club gather to play out their lovelorn affairs of the heart; bitter comedies of longing, frustration, betrayal and redemption.
Inspired by the great English novelist Patrick Hamilton (Twenty Thousand Streets Under The Sky, Hangover Square) who created some of the most authentic fiction of his era; stories borne out of years of social interactions with the working man and woman at his favourite location-the London Pub.
Hailed by The Observer as ‘the undisputed king of dance theatre’, master storyteller Matthew Bourne has created some of the most successful dance productions of the last thirty years including SWAN LAKE, CINDERELLA, THE RED SHOES, ROMEO AND JULIET and EDWARD SCISSORHANDS.
Indigo
This brand-new heart-warming musical follows three generations of women and their coming together after a long time apart.
When her mother is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Beverly and her husband Rick open their home to care for her. While adjusting to their new circumstances, Beverly’s daughter Emma – a non-speaking autistic teenager with synaesthesia – unexpectedly crashes back into her life. Her arrival forces Beverly and Rick to confront the past and learn whether they can become the family Emma so desperately needs.
A beautiful mix of humour and soul, with songs that will make your heart soar, INDIGO celebrate the bonds of women, family and the ultimate need for one another. Be part of an intimate insight into Emma’s world of colour as she opens her heart to the audience, even while she remains silent to the outside world.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Starring X-Factor winner Joe McElderry as the roof-raising Pharaoh, the smash-hit London Palladium production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT heads to Curve!
The multi award-winning show has been performed hundreds of thousands of times including multiple runs in the West End and on Broadway, international tours in over 80 countries worldwide and has become one of the world’s most beloved family musicals.
Featuring much loved pop and musical theatre classics, including Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door, There’s One More Angel In Heaven and Go, Go, Go Joseph.
Vidya Patel: A Bride's Woven Plea
Inspirate have partnered with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Vidya Patel to premiere this new work as the finale of AN INDIAN SUMMER 2025.
Dance artist and choreographer Vidya Patel, during her artist residency with the Philharmonia Orchestra, brings together collaborators; Shammi Pithia to create an original score, and spatial designer Shankho Chaudhuri for this new work A BRIDE’S WOVEN PLEA.
A BRIDE’S WOVEN PLEA through dance, live music and space unravels and reweaves the stories of women, plaited through time, migration, and memory. Taking inspiration from the act of plaiting, this work honours the resilience and complexity of women who carry their homes within them through migration, and through the untying and retying of their own identities to weave knowledge, ritual and tradition into the landscape of British culture as we see it today.
Calamity Jane
Gosh almighty! Grab a posse because the whip crackin’ musical comedy classic CALAMITY JANE is a rollin’ on over the plains to Curve. Based on the much-loved Doris Day movie, this plumb fancy new production stars the multi-award-winning West End actor and singer Carrie Hope Fletcher (CINDERELLA, LES MISÈRABLES).
Meet the fearless, gun slingin’ Calamity Jane – biggest mouth in Dakota territory and always up for a fight. She’ll charm you hog-eyed though, especially when trying to win the heart of the dashing Lieutenant Gilmartin, or shooting insults at the notorious Wild Bill Hickok. But when the men of Deadwood fall hard for Chicago stage star Adelaid Adams, Calamity struggles to keep her jealousy holstered. Her heart’s a thumpin’… but who for?
With the sure-fire classic songs The Deadwood Stage (Whip-Crack-Away), The Black Hills of Dakota, Just Blew in from the Windy City, and the Oscar-winning Secret Love, The Watermill Theatre’s production of CALAMITY JANE is directed by Nikolai Foster (A CHORUS LINE, EVITA, THE WIZARD OF OZ), co-directed and choreographed by Nick Winston and features musical supervision by Olivier, Grammy and Tony Award winner Catherine Jayes.
