We continue to fly the flag for Curve and Leicester nationally and internationally, with more Made at Curve co-productions going on tour than ever before.

Throughout the last year, Curve co-productions and commissions have played to over 700,000 people in 49 cities and 9 different countries.


On Your Feet!

On Your Feet! is the inspiring true love story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan and charts their journey from its origins in Cuba, onto the streets of Miami and finally to international superstardom and features some of the most iconic pops songs of the era, including Rhythm is Gonna Get You, Conga, Get On Your Feet, Don’t Want To Lose You Now and 1-2-3.

The show opens at Curve this June prior to a run at the London Coliseum throughout Summer 2019. On Your Feet! will then conga its way to theatres across the UK; see below for details.

The Entertainer

Shane Richie will play Archie Rice in a brand new production of John Osborne‘s The Entertainer – chosen as one of the greatest plays of the 20th century by Michael Billington.

Directed by Sean O’Connor, this innovative adaptation will open here on 27 Aug, before touring the  UK until November. For the first time since its premiere in 1957, this classic play will also be given a vibrant new setting.

1982: Archie Rice is a washed-up entertainer playing a summer season. As his soldier son sails with the Task Force to liberate the Falklands, his daughter Jean returns from campaigning against the war, and Archie’s professional and personal lives collide with devastating consequences.

My Beautiful Laundrette

Curve, Belgrade Theatre Coventry, Everyman Theatre Cheltenham and Leeds Playhouse are joining forces to co-produce a new stage production of Hanif Kureishi’s screenplay My Beautiful Laundrette.

This bold new production of Hanif Kureishi‘s ground-breaking 1985 Oscar-nominated film of the same name will be directed by Curve’s Artistic Director Nikolai Foster. Presented against a funky backdrop of 80s music and culture, this drama will explore cultural conflict, gender equality, class and generational strife.

My Beautiful Laundrette will open here at Curve on 20 Sep, before touring to Everyman Theatre Cheltenham, Leeds Playhouse, Belgrade Theatre Coventry and Birmingham Repertory Theatre.

White Christmas

Make it a magical Christmas with our Made at Curve production of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. Experience this ‘terrific dose of pure escapism’ (The Times) as this feel-good family musical lights up London’s Dominion Theatre for a strictly limited season from November 2019.

Reprising their acclaimed roles are Danny Mac (Sunset BoulevardStrictly Come Dancing Finalist) as Bob Wallace and Olivier nominated Dan Burton (GypsySingin’ in the RainJersey Boys) as Phil Davis. This ‘glorious revival’ (The Telegraph) is brought to life by our acclaimed Artistic Director Nikolai Foster (AnnieBreakfast at Tiffany’s) and two-time Olivier Award-winning choreographer Stephen Mear (Mary Poppins).
