Black History Month Community Day

Join us on Saturday 10th October for our FREE Black History Month Community Day from 12pm – 4pm.

You’ll find an exciting selection of free events and activities taking place across the building, led by local Black artists and practitioners. A participatory drop-in mask making workshop inspired by Africa artistic traditions and led by Chubby Daniels. A calming and restorative Songbath workshop led by cultural sound artist Mellow Baku. And join JayOneMas for an interactive family workshop celebrating African and Caribbean carnival culture through storytelling, drama, dance and movement, culminating in a vibrant carnival procession.

We have a brilliant line up on our live foyer stage acts including performances from the young people of Inspirational Arts, a live steelpan performance by Zola Steelpans, a spoken word performance and interactive poetry workshop from Imani Ahiro Wenham, and live music from Kris Grant and Lady Affirmation.
