Synopsis
Elaine is starting to forget.
Beverly wishes she wouldn’t remember.
Emma just wants her family back.
This brand-new heart-warming musical follows three generations of women and their coming together after a long time apart.
When her mother is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Beverly and her husband Rick open their home to care for her. While adjusting to their new circumstances, Beverly’s daughter Emma – a non-speaking autistic teenager with synaesthesia – unexpectedly crashes back into her life. Her arrival forces Beverly and Rick to confront the past and learn whether they can become the family Emma so desperately needs.
A beautiful mix of humour and soul, with songs that will make your heart soar, INDIGO celebrate the bonds of women, family and the ultimate need for one another. Be part of an intimate insight into Emma’s world of colour as she opens her heart to the audience, even while she remains silent to the outside world.
Starring ITV Loose Women‘s Lisa Maxwell (THE BILL, EASTENDERS), Olivier award-winning Rebecca Trehearn (BECOMING NANCY, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CINDERELLA), Katie Cailean (CASUALTY), Nuno Queimado (HAMILTON), Hugo Rolland (101 DALMATIANS), Tania Mathurin (THE BOOK OF MORMON, WICKED) and Inès Mazdon Delas.
INDIGO is created by a powerhouse team with book by Kait Kerrigan (THE GREAT GATSBY, THE TIME TRAVELLER’S WIFE, THE MAD ONES) and score by award-winning composer Scott Evan Davis, directed by Catie Davis (associate director of BEETLEJUICE, MOULIN ROUGE) with musical direction and orchestrations by Brad Haak (THE LION KING, MISS SAIGON).
