The Power of Partnering

Led by Michael Joseph and Charity Muiruri

Using partnering to combine text and movement and create new stories-  the actors will use support, counter-balance,  and lifts through a series of games that will help remove inhibitions and help create trust between each other; then develop these skills into  and creating new performance pieces.

Michael Joseph trained at Rambert School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance, and Dance Theatre of Harlem School.  His movement language is a fusion of strong Contemporary Dance technique with Martial Arts, African Brazilian Capoeira, B Boying and Urban Dance.  Michael has worked nationally and internationally as a choreographer and dance artist.

Charity Muiruri is Curve’s Youth & Community Practitioner.  Theatre and filmmaker Charity joined Curve’s Learning Team in April 2019.  She has led acting technique workshops for Tamasha Theatre and in 2016 was commissioned by the Imagine Luton Festival to devise an outdoor theatre show for families. She is co-founder of Luton company The Basement Bunch.
