Wise Children's Wuthering Heights - Live Broadcast FAQ

IS IT REALLY LIVE?
Yes! These are real life LIVE BROADCASTS. Wise Children will be performing the show from Bristol Old Vic on 4, 5 and 6 November, so when you tune in to watch, you’ll be watching the live show – mistakes and all!

DO I HAVE TO START WATCHING AT 7.30PM/2PM?
Yes! The show is really being performed and broadcast live, so you have to start watching at the start time, or you will miss the beginning!

It is also recommended you tune in half an hour early, to make sure the technology is working for you. If you have any problems setting it up, you will then have time to contact the Bristol Old Vic team on 0117 317 8677 or [email protected] for help.

CAN I STOP AND START DURING THE BROADCAST?
No. The show is really being performed and broadcast live, so if you stop watching at any point, you will miss bits of the show. Unlike watching iPlayer, for example, you can’t stop and start the broadcasts.

HOW DO I BOOK A TICKET?
Tickets are available here: bristololdvic.ticketco.events

Select the time and date of the show you’d like to watch, then choose the price you’d like to pay for your ticket (and select ‘1’ ticket from the dropdown menu) and then click PLACE YOUR ORDER.

Following the payment process after that, and you will receive a confirmation email and text message with details on how to watch the show. Remember: the shows are really live, so if you’re booking in advance all you’ll see for now is a clock counting down to the start of the show.

HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?
Early Bird tickets are on sale now for £15. From Mon 1 Nov, tickets go up to £20.

There is also a £50 Pay It Forward ticket which supports the company in making Wuthering Heights more widely available, helping more people experience the delight of watching a live broadcast.

You only need one ticket per screen, but please note, tickets cannot be shared: you can only use them on one ‘device’ (for example a TV or computer).

WHAT IS A MULTIPLE VIEWER TICKET?
You only need one ticket per screen, so your whole household could watch the show together with just one Single Viewer ticket.

However, if you love theatre and are feeling extra supportive, we hope you will consider buying a Multiple Viewer ticket, which is (not quite) twice the price of a Single Viewer ticket.

Please note: like the Single Viewer ticket, a Multiple Viewer ticket can cannot be shared and can only be used on one ‘device’ (for example a TV or computer).

IS THE BROADCAST HIGH QUALITY?
Yes! This is not a scratchy archive recording, or a low-fi zoom broadcast. The experienced team are filming and streaming in HD, with 6 cameras used to capture the show.

CAN I WATCH FROM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD?
Yes. The show is available wherever you are – but please note that the times are listed in UK local time, so, if you’re not in the UK, make sure you’re clear on the time difference so you don’t miss anything.

CAN I SHARE THE LINK WITH OTHER PEOPLE?
No. When you buy a ticket, you will be sent a unique link to watch the show which can be used on one device (phone, computer or TV) only. If you share it with someone else and they start watching before you, you won’t be able to watch!

WILL THE BROADCAST BE CAPTIONED OR AUDIO DESCRIBED?
The broadcast technology doesn’t (yet) allow for captioning or audio description on the live broadcasts, but captioned and audio-described recordings will be made available. You will be able to buy a ticket for these soon and they will be available from 26–28 Nov.

HOW DO I WATCH THE SHOW?
