Oh What a Lovely War: Lovely (British) Wars - A Discussion

Description

Share:

Oh What a Lovely War is considered to be pivotal in the shaping of contemporary British Theatre and the legacy of Joan Littlewood and the Theatre Workshop. Almost 60 years on from the original production, how have attitudes and approaches to the play changed? What has influenced making this production in the time we now find ourselves in?

Join academics from the Drama team at De Montfort University and the creatives of the play in discussion with Dr Tom Cornford in a pre-show event that will explore how Oh What a Lovely War came into being and what it teaches us about anti-war politics. We will share insights into how working on the play has been and open the discussion to questions from the audience.
