Synopsis
“We’ll Meet Again” – on the evening of Remembrance Day – November 11th.
The Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire’s Concert to mark 70 years since the end of World War 2.
Following the success of last year’s Pack up Your Troubles show commemorating the World War 1 Centenary, Applause, BBC Radio Leicester and Curve combine again to produce We’ll Meet Again. This is the story of World War 2 and how it affected Leicester and Leicestershire told through the music popular at the time, the memories of those who lived through it and the stand out images of Leicester at war.
Music again comes from The Enderby Band, The Simpletones, Elaine Pantling, David Morris and Jenny Saunders, The Curve Young Company and many others. The story is in the hands of BBC Radio Leicester presenters along with archive material from the war.
An emotional roller coaster with great music, much joy and a moment of Remembrance.
