Synopsis
THE LOST BREATH is a brand new dance work by classical Indian and contemporary dance artist and Curve Resident Creative Kesha Raithatha.
Join Kesha as she transforms forgotten histories into celebration.
Inspired by Kesha’s deep engagement with South Asian women in Leicester, this unique movement piece draws from experiences of prayer, animist journeying, and meditative thresholds. Kesha has gathered the voices and lived memories of the recent past of these women through intimate workshops and interviews, and bridged the ancestral with the contemporary, inviting present-day women to feel seen, heard, and deeply witnessed.
This offering extends beyond the stage — towards film, community ritual, and the reclamation.
Running time: 40 minute (approximately) dance piece and 10 minute screening, followed by a post-show discussion
Show warnings: Haze will be used during the performance.
Please note audiences that arrive 15 minutes after performance beginning may not be admitted into the auditorium
