Absurd Person Singular

Synopsis

Share:

Alan Ayckbourn is arguably Britain’s most popular playwright and Absurd Person Singular is one of his most popular plays. An inspired comedy dealing with marital tensions in the kitchen, Absurd Person Singular is easily as fresh and provocative today as it was when it was first written nearly forty years ago. A bittersweet farce about the relationships between three couples, in three kitchens, over three successive Christmases, Absurd Person Singular provides a welcome tonic for those in search of an evening of pure madcap ingenuity.

Alan Ayckbourn has received more than 35 awards and honours including two Oliviers, a Tony, two Molieres and Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Variety Club of Great Britain and the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain. Evening Standard Award-winning Absurd Person Singular will be brought to life in a Curve production by Artistic Director Paul Kerryson.
