The Grand Hotel Leicester celebrates major reopening by sponsoring Curve Theatre

After undergoing an extensive refurbishment designed to revitalise one of the city’s most iconic buildings, The Grand Hotel Leicester has pledged its support to become a sponsor of Curve theatre. 

Part of Ascott’s The Unlimited Collection, The Grand Hotel Leicester reopened earlier this year after undergoing a transformative refurbishment and restoration. The hotel boasts 104 rooms and suites as well as the recently launched O.W. Restaurant and Bar, named after the visionary Victorian builder behind the original hotel, Orson Wright. 

Located on Granby Street, The Grand Hotel Leicester has long been recognised as a landmark of the city’s architectural and cultural heritage, having previously welcomed notable guests including King Charles III and Winston Churchill.   

By sponsoring Curve, a registered charity (no. 230708), The Grand Hotel Leicester will help the theatre to continue to stage and develop outstanding work, nurture local artists and engage with local community members, ensuring incredible theatre is accessible for everyone in Leicester and beyond.

The announcement of this sponsorship comes as Curve, one of the UK’s leading regional producing theatres, prepares for an exciting year ahead. In 2026 Made at Curve productions include a brand-new musical BANK OF DAVE (20 – 30 May) based on the true-ish story of Dave Fishwick and hit Netflix film, as well as opening the tour of Olivier Award nominated musical SYLVIA (24 September – 3 October), starring Beverley Knight and Sharon Rose. Curve has also just announced a brand-new production of Roald Dahl’s CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY as its Christmas musical this year, running 21 November 2026 to 9 January 2027. 

In the coming months, Curve and The Grand Hotel Leicester will partner to offer prizes via social media competitions including tickets to productions at Curve and overnight stays at The Grand Hotel Leicester, including pre-theatre dining, drinks and breakfast.
