Synopsis
“Off you go then and best of luck”
Jemma Kennedy’s SECOND PERSON NARRATIVE captures 30 powerful moments of a single character’s life, book-ended by their magical arrival in the world to their final days on Earth.
YOU is an extraordinary and entirely ordinary person. She grows up, makes friends, gets jobs, forms relationship, wins awards, buys clothes, makes mistakes, has a child, discovers herself and enjoys a good laugh. She is surrounded by voices who shape her and their narrative. Sometimes, she listens. Sometimes, she finds her own way.
This engaging account of growing up and finding yourself will be performed by a student ensemble from De Montfort University and directed by Kitty Benford (FANTASTIC FOXES).
SECOND PERSON NARRATIVE was originally commissioned as part of Platform, an initiative from Tonic Theatre in partnership with Nick Hern Books.
