Name a Seat at Curve: Rachel and Rebecca's Story

Fri 13 Mar 2026

“Naming a seat is a chance to be community spirited, charitable and show your pride in Curve.”

Mother and daughter Rachel and Rebecca have been enjoying trips to Curve together since 2014. In total, they’ve visited Curve over 100 times.

In 2024, they decided to celebrate their shared love of theatre and visits to Curve by naming their favourite seats in our Theatre auditorium.

In this Q&A, Rachel and Rebecca explain why Curve means so much to them and why they decided to support our work as a registered charity (no. 230708) by naming a seat.

Why did you choose to name a seat at Curve?

To support Curve as it is so important to us, the city and the county as a whole. We have shared so many wonderful times here and creating special memories for our family is really important.

Your plaque includes a lovely message as mother and daughter – can you tell us more about it?

Rebecca: In 2024 I turned 50 and my mum (Rachel) turned 70. We thought it would be a wonderful thing to do to celebrate our special birthdays and our love for going to Curve together.

What are your top 3 favourite shows you and Rachel have seen at Curve?

Oh my goodness, it’s almost impossible to say after so many years of seeing shows at Curve!

We really thought the recent production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC was excellent. Such incredible staging and the performance was wonderful.

We have just seen INSIDE AMERICAN PIE during one of our many three-generation Curve visits and thought it was brilliant, it really made us think about the song in a different way and the artists were truly phenomenal. Thanks Chris Stafford for deciding it would be a great idea to bring this Canadian production to Leicester!

We also really enjoyed INDIGO – such a clever and powerful musical. Anyone who thinks the genre of musical theatre shouldn’t be taken seriously really needs to open their eyes and minds!

What does coming to Curve mean to you both?

We always feel completely comfortable when we are at Curve. We breathe a deep sigh of contentment as we walk through the doors each time. We truly feel as though we are part of the Curve family, albeit in a small way.

This wonderful theatre gives us the opportunity to experience new ideas and performances, and we love seeing shows which we wouldn’t necessarily think we would go to. At Curve, there is something new for everyone and everyone should try something new!

Why should someone support Curve by naming a seat in our auditorium?

It gives you a sense of belonging to the Curve family. Naming a seat is a chance to be community spirited, charitable and show your pride in Curve.

Don’t hesitate fellow Curve lovers! You’ll feel special and it will help secure the future of this wonderful asset to Leicester and the UK.
