Emma-Louise Howell presents

New Work Festival:
Patterns

Synopsis

Share:

Hidden in the country lanes of Lincolnshire, Hazel seizes the opportunity to flee her abusive husband. But as the pressure to escape rises, unspeakable family truths emerge and the rift between her sons, Harry and Adam, grows. Can the brothers reconcile their differences before their Dad gets home? Or are the patterns of history always doomed to repeat themselves?

Winner of the Michael Ross Prize from RADA and Birkbeck, Patterns sheds light on the emotional damage caused by coercive and controlling abuse and asks how survivors can reclaim their story after so long of being robbed of their own voices.

Age Recommendation: 14+ contains themes of domestic violence and strong language.
