Do you have another face to hide behind?

Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic gothic novel is dramatically reimagined in Evan Placey’s fearless production. This timely new take on the spine-tingling tale questions who we really are and explores a world that no Victorian woman has dared to experience before.

When her scientist husband passes, Harriet Jekyll decides to continue his research. In an experiment gone wrong, Harriet transforms into the unpunishable and violent Florence Hyde – her devilish alter-ego.

With Florence’s behaviour pushing boundaries and revenge ever-growing, Placey’s gender-swap play introduces a 21st century twist and explores the dual personalities of a new generation created in real life and online.

Jekyll and Hyde is a Made at Curve and De Montfort University co-production, performed by a talented company of Drama and Performing Arts BA (Hons) students from the university.
