The Color Purple - at Home: Cast Q&A with Anelisa Lamola

Mon 15 Feb 2021

Meet The Color Purple – at Home cast member Anelisa Lamola, who raises the roof in the show’s opening number ‘Mysterious Ways’ as the Church Soloist.

With just one day to go until  the first streamed performance of The Color Purple – at Home, in association with Birmingham Hippodrome, find out more about our astonishing cast members in this Q&A series.

What does returning to Curve to create this show for people to watch at home mean to you?

For me the first thing I thought when I received the phone call about returning to Curve was gratitude. To be able to work during these trying times is such a blessing and the cherry on top being the TCP (The Color Purple) family, I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to share this experience with. Truly special.

Favourite song?

Tough question because the score for this wonderful show is just something out of heaven. So for me it’s a tie between ‘Mysterious Ways’ and ‘The Color Purple Reprise’.

What do you hope audiences take from this production?

I hope people are able to heal from this story, and also feel inspired to be the change they want to see. And most importantly I hope people learn to seek within and always lead with LOVE.

The Color Purple – at Home streams 16 Feb – 7 Mar. Click here to find out more and book now.
