Vertical Road

A master of kathak and an award-winning choreographer of contemporary dance, internationally acclaimed Akram Khan is celebrated for the vitality and innovation he bring to cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary expression.

Following the sell-out success of In-I, Khan returns to Curve with a cast of nine dancers from Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Vertical Road will receive its World Premiere at Curve.

With a specially commissioned score by long-term collaborator composer, Nitin Sawhney, Vertical Road draws inspiration from universal myths of angels that symbolise ‘ascension’ – the road between the earthly and the spiritual.
