Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Immerse yourself in Edward Albee‘s epoch-defining masterpiece WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? exclusively at Curve this Autumn.
It’s 2am. Locked in a destructive cycle of love and self-loathing, history professor George and his wife Martha return home drunk from a party. As they draw naive young couple Nick and Honey into their bitter and warped world, what starts as a casual nightcap soon turns into a dangerous cocktail of truths and games.
Winner of five Tony Awards including Best Play, the 1966 film starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton won multiple awards, including the British Academy Award for Best Film. Widely regarded as Albee’s most important work, the play is a witty, hugely entertaining, provocative and lacerating study of a marriage in crisis.
This must-see Made at Curve drama is directed by Curve’s Associate Director Cara Nolan (ROAD, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE).
To Kill a Mockingbird
Aaron Sorkin’s riveting, award-winning stage adaptation of the seminal American novel about racial injustice and childhood innocence became a Broadway and West End sensation with star-studded sell-out seasons on both sides of the Atlantic. Now this thrilling courtroom drama comes to Curve.
Acclaimed stage and screen actor Richard Coyle (HEADS OF STATE, CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA, FANTASTIC BEASTS and PLAYER KINGS) returns to this iconic production of Harper Lee’s TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD as Atticus Finch, reprising the role he played to great critical acclaim in the 2022 West End Production. Encouraging kindness and empathy in his children, Atticus is pushed to the limits of these qualities himself when he resolves to uncover the truth in a town that seems determined to hide it.
Set in 1934 Alabama, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD was inspired by novelist Harper Lee’s own childhood and has sold more than 45 million copies worldwide. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature and was long at the top of the banned book lists.

Purlie Victorious
PURLIE VICTORIOUS is a comedy that uses humour to meet racism head-on and celebrate the strength of a community standing up for what’s right.
Set in the American South, when Black Americans faced the full force of Jim Crow’s segregation, this landmark play tells the story of Reverend Purlie Victorious Judson, a bold and inspiring preacher.
Purlie returns to rural Georgia with a daring plan. Together with the determined Lutiebelle, he’s going to outsmart the racist plantation owner who controls their town and win back the Big Bethel church for his community.
Using his quick wit, deep faith and refusal to give up, Purlie takes on injustice with both courage and laughter.
More than 60 years later, Davis’ sharp humour and hopeful message continue to resonate. A rare opportunity to see a truly original and boundary-busting play, this is comedy with purpose – entertaining, uplifting and unafraid.
Nick Mohammed is Mr. Swallow: Show Pony
TASKMASTER loser & TED LASSO star Nick Mohammed returns as his critically acclaimed alter-ego Mr. Swallow with a brand new show: SHOW PONY – now with further tour dates added!
Mr. Swallow has recently been seen making everyone laugh in Amazon Prime’s hit show LAST ONE LAUGHING, as well as appearing on numerous episodes of Channel 4’s 8 OUT OF 10 CATS DOES COUNTDOWN. He made his BBC debut at the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards with – frankly – terrifying results, a lot of which is discussed in SHOW PONY for therapeutic reasons.
SHOW PONY has been described by Mr. Swallow as “payback for everyone who didn’t come to the last tour” and “my most personal/libelous show to date” and will cover everything from not having his own sitcom to not having his own sitcom… and everything in between (critical race theory).
As per – expect magic, music and a whole load of brand new mistakes… balanced seamlessly with a story about Tim Henman.
We Are The Lions, Mr Manager!
Townsend Theatre Productions presents WE ARE THE LIONS, MR MANAGER! – the story of Jayaben Desai and the Grunwick Strike.
In 1976, six workers walked out of Grunwick Film Processing Laboratory and Factory in Willesden. They staged a strike against their poor working conditions, demanding the right to join a union.
Less than two years later, those six had been joined by 20,000 supporters in an historic dispute fighting for better rights for poorly treated workers. Predominantly Asian women, these strikers shattered stereotypes, challenged the establishment, brought a community together to support the rights of workers and changed the face of trade unionism.
On the 50th anniversary of the start of the Grunwick Strike, Townsend Theatre Productions celebrates their bravery, bringing their inspirational story to a new generation with “We Are The Lions, Mr Manager!”, an imaginative and stylish production with songs and music of the time.
★★★★★ ‘Magnificent Play’. The Morning Star.
★★★★ ‘The story of Jayaben Desai… makes you laugh, feel and think… a powerful story, powerfully told’. The Observer.
