Do you dream of becoming an author, a journalist, a screenwriter or a slam poet? Or, do you keep a secret diary or a blog and fancy making some new friends?

Take the next step of your writing journey at the Curve Young Writers Group, run by Writing East Midlands. Sessions are all run by professional writers and not only are they fun and friendly, they offer a fantastic introduction to the world of creative writing. Meet other dreamers and explorers and join the East Midlands young writing community.

Come and try fan fiction, short stories, very long stories, poetry, playwriting, hip hop, happy endings and haikus – the list is endless.

As well as regular workshops, young writers take part in summer schools, performances, competitions and receive our e-zine with news, opportunities and work by other young writers like you. Who knows, maybe your work will get published here too?

The group is led by Leicester’s award-winning poet and playwright Jess Green, a Curve Breakthrough Artist and winner of the BBC Edinburgh 2018 Poetry Slam.

The dates for 2018 are 4 Sep11 Sep25 Sep23 Oct, 30 Oct13 Nov20 Nov, 4 Dec11 Dec and 18 Dec.

I can’t afford the session price but I’d really like my child to attend; can you help?
If you feel you can’t afford the £45 10 x session fee, please get in touch by emailing [email protected] to discuss our bursary scheme. Bursaries are limited as we don’t receive any profit from Young Writers’ Groups; any money taken goes towards the fee for the professional writer leading the group.
