The Mountaintop
Nathan Powell – Creative Director of Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse Theatres – returns to direct this new fully-staged version, with Ray Strasser-King (SUCKER PUNCH) reprising his role as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, alongside Justina Kehinde (GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY) as Camae.
Don’t miss this thrilling and often funny reimagining of Dr. King’s final hours, confronting life, legacy and everything in between.

The Windrush Generation’s story is one of courage, resilience, and immeasurable contribution to the UK.
As part of our ongoing tribute, this showcase will bring to life the rich heritage and experiences of Caribbean seniors and friends who are an integral part of the Better Together Project.

Journeys Festival International presents No Direction Home
Selam Amare, Loraine Mponela and Anastasia Chokuwamba have performed with NO DIRECTION HOME at gigs across the country including at London’s Soho Theatre and Southbank Centre, appearing with guest headliners such as Rob Delany, Fatiha El-Ghorri and Romesh Ranganathan.
Loraine and Anastasia are both based in Coventry. They bring humour to their insights into the asylum system, and fresh takes on life in the UK.
Black History Month Scratch Night
Join us to celebrate Black History Month with a vibrant and exciting Scratch Night on Friday 18th October. We will be showcasing different artforms and celebrating work in progress from local theatre makers and artists from Global Majority backgrounds.

Black History Month Community Day - Drama Workshop
Join us for free drama workshops inspired by Black History, featuring drama exercises and activities and folk singing, with opportunities to share your work. Open to all ages, these workshops are facilitated and choreographed by Joanne Alexander, director of Can’t Blame Da Youth.
African and Caribbean Dance Workshop
Join local dance artist and teacher, Angela O’Neill from angel’s Dance Academy for an afternoon of African and Caribbean dances as part of Black History Month Community Day. Exploring a range of genres of music- Soca, Reggae, African drumming and Afrobeat’s through dance, creating your own choreography. This workshop is open to participants of ability, and no dance experience is necessary.
