National Youth Music Theatre Presents

The Piper of Hamelin

Synopsis

Share:

National Youth Music Theatre returns to Curve with The Piper of Hamelin, a children’s opera by the British composer, John Rutter to a libretto by Jeremy James Taylor, founder of the NYMT.

With wit and poignancy, it tells the exemplary tale of the greed and avarice of the townsfolk of Hamelin, and the tragic punishment brought upon them by the strange travelling Piper who they double-cross after he has saved their city from a plague of rats.

The National Youth Music Theatre, now celebrating its 40th anniversary, represents the very best in work with young people in musical theatre, leading Andrew Lloyd Webber to describe it as “the best youth music theatre in the world.
