PART OF INSIDE OUT FESTIVAL 2017

BHM Live is an initiative that supports and showcases the work of emerging Black artists across art forms. Launched by Serendipity as part of Black History Month 2012, this year presents new work from four talented artists.

Alleyne Dance are twin sisters Kristina and Sadé Alleyne, an innovative, multidiscipline dance company based in London. Through their blend of genres, they explore the concepts of incarceration.

Chessboard Society are Nottingham based Mia Antonia and Kyle Futers. Chessboard Society’s work explores identity through the stories of mixed race people, an insight into their lives and their experiences.

Gerrard Martin Dance present a new piece, the story of two people trying to connect mind, body and spirit: the story of optimism, sensuality, tenacity and romance, and the rebirth that takes place in the exchange.

Humanhood was founded in Birmingham by Rudi Cole and Julia Robert. The company aims to create thoughtful productions that merge energy shifting light, sound and movement.
