The gift of theatre for Father's Day

Mon 11 Jun 2012

Live entertainment makes a memorable and affordable Father’s Day (Sunday 17 June) gift.

We have selected some highlights for dads from our upcoming autumn season.

Entertaining Mr Sloane (2 – 24 November)

Entertaining Mr Sloane is a sleek, dark and sexy comedy written by one of Britain’s most notorious playwrights – Leicester’s own Joe Orton.

It is the swinging 1960s and sexy, cocksure, charismatic young Mr. Sloane is looking for a place to live.  Middle-aged Kath offers herself as his landlady but is also offering something else.  Her younger brother Ed is also looking for some action but their elderly and inquisitive father is unfortunately in the way.

A Curve production directed by Paul Kerryson.
Tickets £7 – £16

Obama the Mamba– President of the Slums (12 – 20 October)

Meet George Hussain Obama. The Mamba. Nairobi slum gangster. US President’s half-brother. Born of the same Kenyan father – their lives worlds apart… A true life story of fate, power and destiny.
Tickets £7 – £16

Certified (20 – 29 September)

The international comedy hit that lifts the lid on all that secret men’s business makes its long-anticipated national debut after ten years of sell out seasons in seven countries. Certified, starring Les Dennis and Christopher Timothy – the brutally frank and seriously funny new comedy, new to the UK.
Tickets £7 – £16

Red Baraat (6 September)

For music lovers, this New York, nine-piece band led by dhol drummer Sunny Jain consists of dhol, drums, percussion, a sousaphone and a five piece horn section.
