Curve is committed to producing the most relevant and engaging work on our stages and public spaces across our city.
At the heart of this is the ambition to offer our local audiences a world-class theatrical experience, which reflects and challenges our pluralist society. We are open to reading scripts and exploring new forms that support this aim. We are excited to hear from theatre makers who have something to offer our Made At Curve productions.
Curve will accept submissions twice a year. The closing dates for 2017 are midday on:
Fri 21 Jul
Fri 22 Dec
Scripts and new ideas are considered by a team from across the organisation in our Script Club. They are then shortlisted to be read by Artistic Director Nikolai Foster. If the work is of interest to Curve you will be invited to discuss your idea further.
All scripts, recordings and proposals should be sent to [email protected] or posted to Scripts, Curve, 60 Rutland Street, Le1 1SB.
Curve is particularly keen to hear from writers who originate from, or currently live in the East Midlands. We would like to begin building a dialogue with you and your work, and can tell you about how we can do this through our workshops, Writers Lab, and Artist Network.
If you would like to find out more about opportunities for writers and theatre makers to get involved at Curve, please contact out Artist Development Co-ordinator Maddie Smart on [email protected]
We are now accepting applications for WritersLab with the first session due to start on Jul 27 2017.
WritersLab is a brand new Curve initiative to nurture exciting, emerging writers for theatre from across the East Midlands. The focus is on professional development by accessing the resources and expertise available at Curve.
Writers are supported over a 12 month period and will participate in script surgeries, workshops, readings and industry focused monthly meetings with fellow writers.
If you are a writer who is committed to making work for theatre, then please tell us more about yourself and your work by Midday on Mon 19 Jun 2017 by sending an e mail to Maddie Smart on [email protected]
