INSIDE OUT FESTIVAL
INSIDE ACTING: Symposium and Workshops
SAT 12 APR 12noon - 6pm
An Event for Professional Actors in the Midlands.
Are you a professional actor/performer in the Midlands? Do you find it hard to find exciting opportunities to work and develop your skills? Do you want to meet other artists in the same situation? We are launching an ambitious new partnership with The Actors Centre - the country’s leading provider of continuing professional development for actors based at the heart of London’s West End. Expanding on Curve’s commitment to the region’s talent, we intend to provide a range of opportunities for talent in the region.
Launching this new relationship, we invite all professional performers in the region to attend Inside Acting, a day of conversations and workshops on Sat 12 Apr 2014 as part of the new Inside Out Festival celebrating the region’s talent. Inside Out will inform the planning of an ongoing programme of CPD opportunities for regional actors which will take place at Curve.
Beginning with a one hour discussion focused on the issue of actor training chaired by the Chair of the Actors Centre, Paul Clayton, whose many credits in a long and distinguished career include Doctor Who, Peep Show, Him and Her, Coronation Street and many more, we will invite a panel of leading actors, directors and producers from the region to consider the landscape for actors in the Midlands. What does “continuing professional development” mean to you? What are the specific needs and gaps? How can a sustainable programme be implemented?
