Curve Young Company Auditions
WANTED: ACTORS, MUSICAL THEATRE PERFORMERS, PHYSICAL THEATRE PERFORMERS, DANCERS
We are delighted to announce the expansion of Curve Young Company this Autumn and the introduction of three new groups, Curve Musical Theatre, Curve Text and Curve Physical. Each of these groups will focus on a particular genre of theatre allowing members to develop key skills in this area.
Curve Musical Theatre
Mondays 6.00pm - 9.00pm
Curve Musical Theatre is a group that focuses on exploring musicals and musical theatre practice’s. Each project members will be working on a musical learning and developing key skills such as singing and movement, acting through songs, developing harmonies and choral practices.
Curve Physical
Tuesdays 5.00pm - 7.00pm
Curve Physical is a group that focuses on the development of theatre skills and techniques and the work of different theatre practitioners. Each project will introduce, develop and focus on the learning of a skill and theatre practice; these may include things like physical theatre, mask, puppetry and Greek theatre.
Curve Text
Tuesdays 7.30pm - 9.30pm
Curve text is a group that focuses on plays and text. Members will learn the process of how an actor approaches a text and how to bring text to life. Each project the group will work with a director exploring a script; these may include things like traditional play texts such as Shakespeare, Brecht, Ibsen, and Miller.
We will be holding workshop auditions in September for the 2012-13 company.

Curve Young Technicians
MON 27 - FRI 31 MAY 10AM - 5PM
We are delighted to announce the launch of a brand new technical theatre course this year, working in collaboration with One Take and Brooksby Melton College.
Curve Young Technicians is for young people aged 16-25, focusing on developing a practical knowledge of technical theatre and will be led by a qualified One Take tutor. The course will be a five day intensive programme held at Curve with an opportunity to work on one of Curve's own productions including the musical Sweeney Todd and two Curve Young Company productions: The Dreaming andThe Tempest.
If you are looking to gain experience as a Sound or Lighting Technician, backstage production or Stage management then you can apply for one of the 6 places available on our Curve Young Technicians programme.
The Curve Young Technicians course will include:
- Crewing for stage performance and set construction
- Lighting operations for stage performance
- Sound operations for stage performance
There is a £40 fee per student and applicants will be subject to an interview and selection process. Successful applicants will be invited to Curve for interview prior to selection and course placements will be decided by Curve and One Take.
