Prospero is banished with his daughter to a remote island. Twelve years later, and intent on revenge, he raises a magical tempest that shipwrecks his enemies on his shores. What begins as a search for retribution develops into a journey of acceptance and compassion in Shakespeare’s final play.
THE DREAMING 4 - 6 JUL Studio
Music by Howard Goodall. Lyrics and book by Charles Hart.
Commissioned and first performed by The National Youth Music Theatre, The Dreaming is a musical version of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Composer Howard Goodall (Hired Man) and lyricist Charles Hart (Phantom of the Opera) combine glorious tunes with superb comedy and a distinctly spooky edge.
