BURIED CHILD
11 NOV - 3 DEC 2011
STUDIO PERFORMANCE
There’s certainly no place like home in this nightmarish family reunion. Vince and new girlfriend Shelley arrive at the remote farmhouse and walk straight into a terrifying night to remember. Why doesn’t anyone know who Vince is? A dark and sinister secret is set to be revealed.
Sam Shepard is considered one of the best American contemporary playwrights and his Buried Child won the coveted Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Fierce and dangerously comic, this is a truly engrossing and disturbing thriller.
A Curve production directed by Paul Kerryson whose previous Studio successes include Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman and The Lieutenant Of Inishmore and Steven Berkoff’s East.

Guardian
Paul Kerryson's production arrives a little late for Halloween, though it does make for a ghoulishly well-observed parody of Thanksgiving
BBC Radio Leicester
Absolutely brilliant
Guardian
a little house of horrors on the prairie in which the American dream has curdled into an Oedipal nightmare
Pukaar News
Brilliant acting and directing along with a gripping story…
The Stage
tantalising interpretation of Shepard’s disturbing novel
The Good Review
the cast is incredible … an experience not to be missed
The Observer
incisive and insightful direction
Artisleicestershire.co.uk
A killer of a play
The Public Reviews
This is powerful stuff. Paul Kerryson’s direction maintains the alien feel of the farmhouse and leaves us questioning every line and revelation.
