CASTING & AUDITIONS PROCESS
- ‣ How does the casting process work at Curve?
Leicester Theatre Trust is a producing theatre company which produces up to 6 shows each year at Curve Theatre. Each production’s director is responsible for the casting of the that show, helped either by a freelance Casting Director or our Assistant Producer. Casting is dependent on the requirements of the production (large musical/small play) and the type of show we are producing (In-house/Co-production).
If we are producing a community project, where we might employ both professional and non-professional actors and creatives, details of which will be made available on our website. Generally, we do not hold ‘open auditions’ at Curve theatre. However, casting breakdowns are often posted via Spotlight or Script Breakdown Service (SBS) and sent to agents who then submit their suggestions. Castings and meetings usually take place in London.Casting is an ongoing and ever shifting process. Please bear in mind that as we do not have a specific Casting Department and due to the large number of enquiries we receive, it is not always possible to reply to every correspondence.
We do keep submissions and CVs that are sent to us on file, however it is much more beneficial to apply for a specific role in a production rather than just any production across the season. When a meeting or an audition with an actor has taken place, whether successful or not, LTT will keep their details on file for future reference.
For any further details please contact our Assistant Producer at Curve Theatre.- ‣ Can I submit a CV?

CAREERS & WORK EXPERIENCE
- ‣ How do I find out about Job vacancies at Curve?
All of our vacancies are advertised on our website in the Careers at Curve section under the heading of Find Out More. We prefer applicants to apply on-line, however hard copy application forms can be requested by either calling our HR Team on 0116 2423597 or e-mailing us at careers@curvetheatre.co.uk and will still be considered.
- ‣ Do you offer work experience placements?
We are currently offering work experience placements to Year 10 students. The placements cover a variety of departments and can be arranged throughout the year. Due to the huge interest we get in work experience there is an on-line application process in place (accessed via Careers at Curve). Students are required to complete the application form and attend an informal interview. Placements will be offered to students who are successful following this process. As there is such a high level of interest it is strongly recommended that students have a back-up option for their work experience in case they are not successful in obtaining a placement.
There are currently plans in place to introduce placements for higher and further education students. Once this is available details will be advertised on our website.
