Following the launch of its Artist and Community Engagement Programme in October 2012, Curve has selected three participatory arts groups from the East Midlands to join a pilot scheme at the theatre from January to August this year.
Curve are delighted to announce that their production of Hello, Dolly! has been extended by an extra week, and will now run until 19 January 2013. The production has proved a huge success, receiving great reviews from the press and public alike.
Following the opening of Curve’s musical Hello, Dolly! starring Janie Dee, Artistic Director, Paul Kerryson announces thatFrances Ruffelle will play the title role in his forthcoming production of Pam Gems’ Piaf. Planning is underway for a national tour of the production, following the performances at Curve, full details to be confirmed at a later date.
The new season at Leicester’s Curve theatre goes on sale on Saturday 3 November 2012*. As well as the previously announced new Curve production PIAF (22 February – 16 March) and the much-anticipated return of Leicester’s own smash-hit musical HOT STUFF (20 April – 26 May), Curve is thrilled to announce its full Spring/Summer programme of work. Curve also confirms that it will stage a new production of Richard III in its 2013 – 2014 Season (full information to follow at a later date).
Award-winning actress Janie Dee returns to Curve to play the title role in Artistic Director Paul Kerryson’s production of Michael Stewart and Jerry Herman’s Hello, Dolly!
Actor, stand-up comedian and presenter Rufus Hound will lead the cast in Nicholas Hytner’s five star award-winning production of One Man, Two Guvnors for its second UK tour in autumn 2012.
Curve theatre is launching a crowd-funding appeal to raise £750 for the hundreds of shoes needed for the local performers of the upcoming Community Production of OLIVER! (31 July – 12 August).
