Leicester’s Curve theatre has today announced that actors Jasper Britton and Shobna Gulati will join its Board of Trustees.
Following the reports and allegations of the last two weeks, first in America and, more recently, closer to home, we have come together to make clear that there can be no place for sexual harassment or abuse of power in our industry.
Today, the Royal Shakespeare Company announces the adult casting for the first five venues of the Matilda The Musical 2018/19 UK and Ireland Tour. Craige Els will reprise the role of Miss Trunchbull, having played her in the West End for three years between 2014 and 2017. He will be joined by Carly Thoms as Miss Honey and Sebastien Torkia as Mr Wormwood as well as former West End cast-mate Rebecca Thornhill as Mrs Wormwood.
Nupur Arts, a Curve Affiliate Group, will present an exciting evening featuring an array of vibrant Indian classical dance and music showcasing the best of Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam, along with the enchanting and mesmerising music recital on Tabla and Sitar. Kuchipudi and Mohiniattam have rarely been seen in Leicester. Most people in Leicester are familiar with popular Bollywood dance but not many have had the chance to experience the grace, fluidity, intricate technique and beautiful rhythm of various Indian classical dance forms.
Curve – one of the UK’s leading producing theatres – has partnered with Leicester Castle Business School, at De Montfort University, to provide industry-based experience to students of a new MSc module.
The cast, production team and tour dates have been announced for Curve and Rose Theatre Kingston’s production of Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine.
The ticket ballot for the much-anticipated CBeebies Christmas Show opens at 11am on Tuesday 10th October. Last year, the ballot for the CBeebies Christmas Show attracted over 250,000 ticket applications. The 2017 ballot will be open for one week only and will close at 11am on 17th October.
Leicester’s Curve theatre, has received a prestigious national Conference and Incentive Travel Award (C&IT) for Local Offer Live, its annual event for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
